Flour, Spelt, Unsifted


WHOLE GRAIN, includes part of hull, needs to be sifted. Certified Organic Spelt is an ancient form of wheat. While tasting similar to wheat, it contains a lower gluten content. Spelt has a cake-like texture, similar to pastry. It can be used in the same proportions you would a wheat recipe, in either pastries or bread.

This product was repackaged in a non-certified organic kitchen, therefore it cannot be labeled certified organic.



If baking spelt bread, increase your yeast (up to 2x). For those who are allergic to wheat, spelt is a great alternative. If someone is allergic to gluten, however, spelt is not a good alternative, as there is some gluten in this grain.
